St Buryan Academy's Curriculum
Our vision is to provide all children at St Buryan Academy with access to a curriculum that will inspire them to achieve their aspirations now and in the future. Each term will have a focussed learning context that is driven by an essential question to fuel our learners’ thinking. The curriculum will be supported by ‘essential reads’ that will help progress learning, inquiry and exploration as well as allow the children of St Buryan to access stimulating texts which will aid reading for enjoyment. Our curriculum aims to create a classroom which has no walls, barriers or limitations; to provide our learners with the richest, most varied opportunities that we can provide. Our curriculum will provide our children with a cultural understanding with the skills and essential knowledge they need for the future. Our aim is to create an environment where every child can be the best that they can be.
As a member of Leading Edge Academies Partnership, our curriculum aims to provide world class standards and produce global learners. Our children, through our curriculum, will think and act as responsible global and local citizens with great outcomes. Our learners will be encouraged to explore and develop their passions and talents so that they have a zest for learning and life.
We use Key Concepts within each subject to tie children's learning together, building on their knowledge to learn new skills as they progress through the school.
