Teacher: Mr Ben Givens, Teaching Assistant: Mrs L. Sullivan
Class 3/4 are a mixed Year 3 and 4 class.

Bodrifty Roundhouse Visit
Class 3/4 had a delightful day discovering what it was like to live during the Iron Age. Our journey back through the eons of time commenced with an exploration over the moors where we studied an Iron Age Quoit. We eagerly and excitedly meandered down towards the Iron Age roundhouse ruins and tried to see how many we could spot. We sat and had lunch in the largest roundhouse we could find and soaked up the ancient aura! In the afternoon we headed to the recreated roundhouse at Bodrifty and completed a variety of activities to gain an insight into how our ancestors would have lived during the Iron Age. Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned a great deal along the way.
Thanks to everyone who helped and all of class3/4 who once again represented St Buryan brilliantly.

Kate Matthew's story for the BBC Radio2 500 words competition
Kate Matthew of Class 3/4 has made it through to the last 2000 entries of the writing competition championed by DJ Chris Evans. Her story, Bob the Brain Minister, caught the eye of the shortlisting judges and made the first cut, from 74,000 initial entries down to 2,000.
Congratulations Kate! We all hope that you make it all the way and win the competition! Kate's story is copied below for you all to enjoy!
The Year of the Superhero!
Excitement is in the air as year 3/4 embark on a term of superhero fun. Our creative topic for the autumn term is superheroes. All our topics will be based around this theme. In literacy will be writing our own superhero stories. We will be researching different comics and using this medium to aid our understanding of how to include speech in our writing. The class have produced some amazing comic strip front covers in art.
