Youth Speaks Competition

Congratulations to Ryan, Eva, Harry D,  Helen, Perran and Noah B  who performed with confidence and conviction at the Rotary Club’s ‘Youth Speaks’ competition this week.  The organiser of the event, Alun Howell, has emailed Mrs Smith, stating how pleased he was with our teams and how well they did.

Y5 Art Workshop

Year 5 made another visit to Cape Cornwall School this week where they enjoyed a clay workshop. Their work will be fired, then brought into school to decorate at a later date.

SOS collection

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the RNLI’s SOS appeal. We collected £50 which will be used to purchase new lifejackets.

High Fives

Our High 5s team played 2 matches this week. The first game, against Pendeen School, they won 4-0. The second game against Sennen School was closely matched but our team were the eventual winners, with the whole team playing with great skill and determination. The score was 4-2.

Reception Class Visit to Geevor

Reception enjoyed a visit to Geevor on Thursday, going underground as well as participating in many fun educational activities.

Argyle Visit

We had a great response to the Plymouth Argyle visit and have been able to book in 2 groups of children on March 17th! All children who have returned consent forms with a deposit have been allocated a place and we have a waiting list for anyone else who is interested.

Half Term Holiday

 

School ends on Thursday 9 February for the half term break.  School will re-open on Monday 20 February for the second half of the Spring Term.

 

Extra Curricular Activities

Breakfast Club from 8am all week- last food orders 8.40am

Monday- Hockey Club Y3-6 until 4.30pm, Cross country-lunchtime

Tuesday- Recorders at lunchtime, Let’s Get Cooking 3.15- 4.15pm

Wednesday- Cross country- lunchtime, Towerball/High 5s  Y3-6 until 4.15pm, Art Club Y1-2 until 4pm                                          

Thursday- Cross country-lunchtime,Sewing Y5/6 until 4.15pm, Football Y3-6 until 4.15pm                  Infant ball skills- until 4.15pm

Activities R Us

No session on Friday!

Monday               Make and Bake with Sarah - Oaty Chocolate Chip cookies – aprons please

Tuesday               Fun and Fitness with Pete

Wednesday        Rugby coaching and creative play with Pauline

Thursday             Hopefully Yogibees and Yogibears – will confirm next week
